OK, I am back. It is the next day, but I am not sure that matters. I thought I had some more time last time but when I thought I had an hour, I only had half an hour. Then, when I got to work, I forgot that the meeting was changed to 07:00, so I actually had plenty of time. Of course, now that I have sat down to write this, I seem to be out of time again. We have to go shopping and the kids are getting anxious and rowdy, so I will have to make this one quick also.
My surgeon had a death in the family so he postponed two weeks worth of operations. This bumped me back to after Christmas and since they take two weeks off for Christmas, I will not be having the operation until mid-January. Probably Jan. 18, but maybe Jan. 11 and maybe some other time. At this point, I don't know, again. I am sure there will be other reasons for cancelling when I get close, like they have lost my records again, but for now, we are waiting.
The good news is I get to be here for Maeghan's program and be out of the hospital for Christmas. Maeghan's program is on Dec. 17. It is about a two to two and a half hour program, in which Maeghan's group will be doing things for about 5 minutes. They are doing a professional DVD for the program and we are getting one, but I am sure it will be mostly other kids. Maeghan's group is second but they have to wait around for the finale in which all the classes are included. I am not sure how you keep all those kids quiet and entertained for the whole program. The church where the program is, is very small. Not a lot of people fit into it. They have limited everyone's tickets to six but since they have already given all of them out, they said they have a few left over. The church looks like if only seats about 100, unless people are going to stand up in the back. Even then, it will be very crowded.
No camera's or filming are allowed, although everyone says they are going to do it anyway. That is what they do here in Australia, ignore the rules. I have tried and the teacher have tried to explain that it is a legal thing and once they sign the contract for the professional person, then the images are basically copywrited to the photographer. We will have to see what happens that night. Since we have already paid for the video, I am hoping the camera man does not refuse to do the work and keep the money.
The DVD will probably not be copied protected, so I can make copies and send them to everyone. I haven't sent any DVD's yet, so it remains to be seen whether I will actually get around to sending these. But you can always hope. I did make a video of Maeghan's pictures the other day and it turned out really nice. There are some glitches in it that I have to clean up, but for the most part, it works quite well.
Right now, we are waiting on our video camera to return as it was basically stolen from us by someone that borrowed it 'for the day'. They have had it for two weeks now and keep giving us excuses why they have not returned it. We told them we wanted it by today and are waiting for them to bring it.
I have to go now, I will probably write again tonight.
Talk to you later
