MWNews 7

We got Maeghan some new shoes the other day. She has outgrown the other ones, which were a size four. We had to get a size six this time, which are too big, but with her braces on, they are not that big on her. We got her some that light up on the bottom and the sides. The problem is, she doesn't weigh enough to make them light up all the time. I think it is the shoes as you can't make them light up very easily using your hand either.

She likes them a lot. Since they don't light up all the time, she forgets that they do but when you point it out to her that they are lighting up, she wants to play with them. Then they stop lighting up so she is disappointed.

She has memorized all her books. She wants them read to her over and over again. Last night, when I was reading to her, she would follow along and say the words with me. When she was looking at the books by herself, she would get to a page and tell you what it said on that page. Not that she was actually reading it, she just knew what the words were by the pictures. And, she knows what the words mean. One of them says the little pig is eating corn and oats and she says, I like corn or when the little pig is taking a bath, she says she wants to take a bath with Mommy.

Once again, I have to tell you, she is just so cute. William hasn't said much lately although Juanita says he is still pretty active. I am not sure when we go back to the doctor again. We have to go to the registar at the hospital sometime soon but I don't know when that is either.

MWNews 6

Maeghan is in the shower singing. She always wants to take a shower with Mommy. She is quite happy to sit in the shower and play and sing. She only gets upset when Mommy tries to wash her. She hates that.

She has now stopped singing and started complaining. Mommy must have started washing her.

I am having a lovely breakfast of curried eggs and bacon. Not very good, I left it in the pan too long. I only mention it because it is something I would have never thought to eat in America. It is amazing the things I have learned to like over here. Probably due to lack of anything really edible but I now eat all sorts of stuff.

Curries are my favorite, although I did used to eat them America. But over here, I have learned to like cabbage and really thick bacon and brown eggs (you can't get white eggs over here). I like brussel sprouts (in fact, I love them) and squid and something called dim sims. I am not really sure what a dim sim is made out of but it is kind of a chinese dumpling that is either steamed or fried. Maeghan loves them too and will eat two or three at one sitting. Of course, I will eat as many as are available, which is about ten or twelve, or fifteen if no one else is hungry.

Not that I can eat them anymore. On a diet and all but I still make them for everyone else ever couple of weeks. Another thing that is something we ate in America but not like they do here is pies. Not sweet pies like apple and pineapple. They turn their noses up at those kids of pies. They have them over here but where we would say pie in America and think of apple or pecan or something, they think meat pies.

Meat pies are what Australians claim as their own, although I am guessing they come from England. But over here, they are what everone eats and they sell them everywhere. They are not like the pot pies we have, although they are similiar. They come mostly as minced meat and gravey in a pie crust. I say minced meat meaning hamburger meat but over here, hamburger meat is something totally different and is not even called hamburger meat. But I will leave that discussion for another time.

Anyway, I love pies. You can get them in different flavours. The plain ones are what most people eat but you can get them as a curried pie or a chunky pie or Juanita's favorite, beef, bacon and cheese. Don't think the bacon is anything like what is in America. It is more like ham than bacon as they do not smoke their bacon over here. In fact, they do not smoke anything over here, but again, a discussion for another time.

You can even get a chili pie over here but, once again, not the chili we know but a pie that has some hot chili's in it. Those are my favorite but as with all things hot and spicy, no one eats them over here so it is very hard to find a place that sells them.

Well, I started off by just putting in a note about Maeghan singing in the shower and varied off into this thing about food. Maybe it is because I am hungry all the time. With my next message, I will tell you about me going to the doctor and being told I seem to be carrying a lot of weight for someone with a heart condition. There is nothing wrong, but I have put myself on the Aktins diet so I can lose weight and then I will go back to a low fat diet, which is what the doctor wants.

Talk to you again soon.

MWNews 5

Maeghan and Juanita and I suppose William too, although I think he said he was going to stay home, drove me to work today.  Juanita is going to visit her friends here in Sydney and Maeghan is going to visit her friend Lecky (Alexis).  Maeghan was asleep when I carried her out to the car but she woke up enough to ask where are we going.  I told her she was taking Daddy to work and when we walked between the cars, she said 'Not in Mommy's car, in Daddy's car.'  I told her yes, in Daddy's car and she went back to sleep.

Apparently, when Juanita got in the car, Maeghan told her that she was going to see Lecky tomorrow and Juanita told her she was going today.  She said 'Yea' and then went back to sleep again.

This seems to work out well for me as I can give you a blow by blow account of what Maeghan is doing.  You are probably going to get really tired of that and I will too, but for now, it is fun.  I have to remember to delete the signature line at the bottom each time or it gets posted also.  My previous tests posted almost immediately.

Now I will try it without the trailing business information.

MWNews 3

This is to test sending messages via email. I have no idea how long it takes for these to post. Maybe this is just a new toy for me and I will get tired of it fairly quickly but it seems like a good idea at the time.

MWNews 2

For my first real post, we went to the doctor last week to have William scanned. This is the followup to the previous scan as he would not cooperate the first time. He kept rolling over when they tried to take his picture.

This time, he did what he was suppossed to do. Kind of, he still kept rolling around but this time he rolled the right way. We are happy to say everything is fine as far as they can tell from the pictures. He doesn't have any problems and seems to be doing just right. Juanita seems to think he is a big baby but I am not sure you can tell from the squigally lines they show you. I suppose, if you squint hard enough, you can make out something is there but I am sure they could show you anything and tell you what ever they want to tell you about what it is.

They did manage to make some kind of movie or something that made it look like William opened his mouth and put his thumb in it. I am sure it was some form of trick photography they used but it was nice of them to make the effort. You could plainly see him do it.

Well, I am off to work now. At some point, I will add names to the list so you can reply and comment on the posts. I haven't figured out how to do that yet but I will eventually. Maeghan does things everyday that are so cute. Now, when she does them, I can type them in here and I don't have to remember it for the next letter.

MWNews 1

This is the new method of passing on the information formerly contained in the Meaghan News. I hope to post everyday or so but will probably end up posting only occasionally. I am hoping this thing has a spell checker as I tend to have fat fingers and hit the wrong keys most of the time. Anyway, maybe I can keep up with this a little better and send stuff when it happens and while it is fresh in my mind.

Apparently, I can post pictures this way also, so I will be doing so as soon as I figure out how. For now, this is my first blog and hopefully I will get better as I go.
