Today is Maeghan's birthday. She is now four. A big girl as she says. Not big enough for big school, but she is now going to little school. She started going to pre-school twice a week a few weeks ago. She has a friend from across the street that is there on one of the days she attends. She loves it. The first day we took her, all she wanted to do was go play with all the toys. We were being shown around and introduced to the staff but she kept wandering off to find something to play with.
They have two groups at the school. One for kids two and three years old and one for the four and five year olds. They were originally going to put her in the younger group because she is so small, but after they talked to her, they decided she was old enough to go to the older group. they did say she should probably wait until she is six or just before she turns six before she goes to regular school. We said we would wait and see but she is ready to go now.
I am probably going to have to leave this and come back to it as it is almost time to go pick her up. She goes from 9 to 3 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We were worried about her going to the toilet and being really small compared to the other kids, but they have the little toliets for her, that she can get on herself, and the teachers are really on the look out for any kids being bullies or picking on the smaller kids. They seem to understand this problem, which is something that is prevalent in the bigger schools, and they keep an eye out for any sign of it.
